How Long Isa Piece ofString?
As long as we make it.
It's easy to feel like the problems in the world are too big for any one of us to make a meaningful difference. But what happens when thousands of us each add one little string?
One small string.Thousands of people.A meaningful difference.
We're bringing people together to collect new, unused essentials for organizations supporting survivors and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence.
You don't need to spend a lot of money or make a grand gesture. Just bring one small thing.
Many of the items on our list might already be sitting unused in your home.

Bring something small. Make something big.
All donated items must be new and unused.

How it works
Three simple steps
Find something to bring
Choose at least one new, unused item from the list above.
Bring it with you
You'll find colorful, string-covered donation bins near the elevators on all four art floors.
Drop it in
That's it. Your contribution joins thousands of other small acts of generosity. No registration, sorting, or interaction required.
Give another way
Donate online
For those who can't bring a donation, or prefer to give online, gifting money and gift cards is an easy way to make a big impact.
Donating gift cards empowers domestic violence survivors with the ability to choose what is best for themselves and their children, fostering self-determination and dignity.
You'll be donating to Jamie Loberman (@jamielob) on Venmo (phone number ending 2135) who will ensure that your donation safely makes it to the right place. A report on where the funds and donations go will be available after the drive has completed.
Where it goes
Supporting survivors. Strengthening communities.
Donations will be distributed to organizations supporting survivors and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence.
We've already connected with Center for Domestic Peace and are exploring additional organizations that can put these essentials directly into the hands of people who need them.
The final distribution will depend on the volume and types of donations collected.
Who are we
We're a small group of passionate individuals who want to make a difference in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, even hopeless.
We believe that while our individual actions may feel small, together they can become something meaningful. That we don't have to change the world on our own, and that even the smallest act of kindness can become part of something much bigger.
At its heart, this project is built on a simple belief: we are stronger together.
How long isa piece of string?
As long as we make it.
One little string from you.
One little string from someone else.
Thousands of little strings, together.
Bring something. Be part of it.
